Introduction

1. INTRODUCTION
1.1 Establishment and object of the Fund
1.1.1 A retirement fund known as HAIRDRESSING AND COSMETOLOGY INDUSTRY PROVIDENT FUND (the FUND) was established on 1 October 1976.
1.1.2 The object of the FUND is to provide, in terms of the provisions of these RULES, as amended from time to time, benefits at retirement or other life contingencies on behalf of persons who qualify for participation in the FUND.
1.1.3 The FUND was established by a collective agreement concluded by the parties to the Hairdressing & Cosmetology Services Bargaining Council semi-national and published by the Minister of Labour in terms of Section 48 of the Labour Relations Act of 1956, and extended by the Labour Relations Act No.66 of 1995, as amended.
1.1.4  and the BOARD MEMBERS who for full the role of trustees.
In particular -
1.1.5 (a) the EMPLOYER accepts the obligations imposed on it in terms of the RULES;  and
  (b) the BOARD MEMBERS accept their nomination with the powers and obligations as set out in the RULES.
1.1.5 The first BOARD MEMBERS of the FUND are

1.2 Registered office
  The registered office of the FUND is situated at the Hairdressing & Cosmetology Services Bargaining Council,
